Location
The historic, Bridge to Nowhere was built in 1936.
Located in the San Gabriel Mountains, just 20 miles north of the City of Azusa, CA. Place cursor over image to enlarge.
In 1938, the road to the bridge was washed away during California’s 4th largest flood leaving behind a beautiful 5 mile hiking trail through the Angeles National Forest.
The Bridge to Nowhere sits on 50 acres of private property surrounded on all sides by the Sheep Mountain Wilderness Area in the Angeles National Forest.
Bungee America jumps every Saturday & Sunday all year round. We also jump any day of the week with 7 days prior notice. Mid-week jumps require special arrangements, please contact us.

- Once registration is complete, everyone will get back into their own vehicles and follow Bungee America’s staff on a 20 minute drive into the San Gabriel Canyon.
Trailhead
- This is the beginning of the 5 mile hike to the Bridge to Nowhere.
- Have your backpacks ready to go because after an orientation highlighting the rules of the backcountry we will hit the trail.
From the trailhead we will begin the hike to the Bridge to Nowhere.
A 5 mile hike over a rocky & rugged trail leads to the bridge.
The trail crosses a creek 6 times or more. The water ranges from 1 to 3 feet deep. You must wear shorts and shoes that can get wet. Everyone will get their shoes and socks wet, because we do not stop to change our shoes at the river crossings.
Sturdy hiking footwear works best although many of our guests and staff wear sturdy quality running shoes. Do not wear sandals, flip flops, or flimsy footwear because this is a rocky & rugged trail.
Bring a change of socks and shoes or sandals to change into when you arrive at the bridge.
The thing to remember is this; YOU are 5 miles from your vehicle, if you don’t bring what you need, there is no opportunity to just go to your car and grab it.
Bungee America provides a water filter at the bridge so you can refill your water bottles all day and before the hike back to your vehicle with beautiful, crisp mountain spring water.
Jump School
You will learn everything you need to know about bungee jumping during a fun 30 minute presentation called “Jump School”, which is taught right on the deck of the bridge.
You will learn how the bungee system keeps you safe, and jumping technique for the 6 completely different jumps you get to choose from.
Spectators are welcome to listen to Jump School free of charge. Click on Jump Styles for a preview.
We will then be ready for an awesome day of bungee jumping!
Jumping
- We operate two bungee jumping platforms simultaneously, which means, non stop action.
- The group will be divided into weight categories and jump accordingly.
- We start with lightweights and progress to heavy weights throughout the day.
Choose between 5 different jump packages. Click on “Jump Packages”.
Make sure you bring your camera so you do not miss one of the most thrilling moments of your life!
After Your Jump
Remember, this is a full day adventure so do not plan to get back to your vehicle until just before dark. Although, once you have finished jumping, you are welcome to hike back to your vehicle at your own pace ahead of your Bungee America staff. You may get back to your car an hour or more before the staff. The canyon doesn’t open into any other canyons and the river flows back toward the parking lot.
If you prefer…If you are not sure of the trail or are not comfortable hiking back to your vehicle without your Bungee America staff, feel free to hang out all day and watch all of our guests bungee jump.
Bring your swim suits. There are plenty of places to go swimming in the river.
Now you can hike back to your vehicles with your Bungee America staff after everyone has finished their jumps. Your Bungee America staff usually arrive back at their vehicles just before dark.
You may now enjoy a leisurely drive home and the memories of the most wonderful adrenaline filled day of your life.
